    With a timeline for your matter and reasonable phone and email access throughout.

Bridging the justice gap

I started Stevenson PLLC because I kept seeing good people stuck in a bad spot, unable to get free legal help but unable to pay the sky-high rates of a big firm. They were left to either go it alone or settle for less than they deserved. I decided that wasn't good enough.

Before entering private practice, I worked inside federal court chambers, where I evaluated motions and drafted orders from the court's perspective. That experience continues to inform how I assess every matter and how I write.

Is the price really the price?

Yes. The number on the price list is what you pay this firm for that service. Court costs are separate and listed. There is no hourly billing, no charge for phone calls, and no invoice at the end with surprises on it.

What if my matter becomes contested?

I tell you immediately and the flat fee arrangement ends. Your agreement states an hourly rate if you want me to continue where I am able, and a refund formula for the unearned portion if you would rather take your file elsewhere. You will never find out mid-case that the price changed.

Do I have to come to your office?

Rarely. Consultations happen by video or phone. You will need a signing appointment for wills, trusts, and powers of attorney, and that happens either at the University Place office or by remote online notarization from your own home.

Why are these prices lower than what I was quoted elsewhere?

Because I only take matters where the work is predictable, I do not staff a large office, and almost everything runs remotely. The savings are structural. They are not a discount on the quality of the work.
